Repair service on Kaplan turbine

Another service that TEKUM can professionally provide is defect analysis (NDT testing and, if necessary, the proposal for the rehabilitation of runner assemblies and other turbine components). One of the significant projects involved the rehabilitation of parts of a 58MW Kaplan turbine with a runner blade diameter of 5700mm. The rehabilitation included addressing erosion damage to the runner blades caused by cavitation (material X3CrNiMo 13-4), rehabilitation of the runner casing damaged due to adverse vibrations (materials XCrNi 18-10 and S355), and repair of erosion damage to the runner cone caused by cavitation. The entire repair process was supported by welding documentation (WPQR, WPS, welder qualifications, etc.) and final documentation that included NDT reports and certificates for the used materials.
